My cup is half full!

August 11th, 2006 at 01:19 pm

My husband's truck is broken (I know nothing about cars so that is the best explantion I can give) so we are a one car family.

It is not to bad because I work from home so I have just been planning all my errands at night when he comes home.

One car has been an inconvenience but it has made me realize if we needed extra money cutting down to one car would be a great savings and could be done.

Just sitting here trying to find the silver lining.....are you convinced??

I had to laugh at your very first paragraph! The car is broken...what more can I say? Ahhhhh, that's so me too! And DH for that matter. We're really clueless when it comes to car maintenence. Definitely not do-it-ourselfers.

Great way of looking at it! I work during the school year in the schools, but I have my summers off. So two cars are necessary during the school year, but during the summer I often wonder why we have two cars! I could most certainly live without the second car if I were a full time SAHM. It would be inconvenient some times...but I could do it.

My DH and I used to share a car for a couple of years before my FIL gave us his old car. It sure made for some good together time. (Hey, we were newlyweds!) There were actually two times in our marriage when we had one car. It just goes to prove, if you HAVE to do it, it CAN be done!
Good luck getting his truck fixed! Hope it won't cost too much!

One of our cars is broken, too. It's the one that gets cruddy gas mileage so I haven't moved too quickly to fix it. DH's job is in another state and the provide any needed vehicles. So we get by okay on the one.
